This site collects as little as it can get away with. There is no account to create, no newsletter to join and no form to fill in — you read the pages and leave.
What is collected
Anonymised analytics: which pages get read, roughly which country a visit came from, and what people clicked. That is how I know which questions to write about next. No profiles are built, and nothing is sold to anyone.
Cookies and third parties
The GetYourGuide booking widgets on this site set their own cookies, which is how a booking is credited to this site — see the affiliate disclosure for what that means in practice. If you go on to book, you do it on GetYourGuide, under their privacy policy, with your details entered there rather than here. The fonts on this site are loaded from Google Fonts, which sees a request from your browser.
Your choices
Block cookies in your browser settings and this site still works. Nothing here is gated. The most useful page on it — what costs nothing at Fort McHenry — asks nothing of you at all.
